Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald was onsite today at the Belmont 16s in Belmont to present a $5,000 cheque to Sailability Belmont for the purchase of new lifejackets.
Sailability Belmont 16s is the largest Sailability operation in Australia and is this year celebrating its 20 year anniversary of providing sailing experiences for people with a disability of all ages.
Mr MacDonald said he was pleased to present the funding on behalf of the Minister for Disability Services The Hon Ray Williams MP.
“Sailability do great work for the local community and for people with a disability. Since the introduction of the NDIS their catchment has significantly expanded. The provision of further lifejackets will assist them in catering to a greater number of users” Mr MacDonald said.

Lindon Roberts, President of Sailability Belmont 16s said “This grant will enable Sailability Belmont 16s to upgrade essential equipment such as lifejackets and other equipment for our ongoing service to the greater disabled community”
