Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald MLC is reminding the Hunter community that the final community consultation events on the concept plan for the Hunter Sports and Entertainment Precinct at Broadmeadow are scheduled for this Sunday 29th October.

  • Broadmeadow Showground, Brown Road, Newcastle for the Farmers Market between 10am and 12pm
  • Forecourt of McDonald Jones Stadium for the Newcastle Jets v Western Sydney Wanderers between 3.30pm and 5.30pm

The consultations allow for community feedback on the Hunter Sports and Entertainment Precinct concept plan launched by Minister for Sport Stuart Ayres in July.

The proposed concept plan for the Hunter Sports &Entertainment Precinct provides initial ideas about the site’s long-term future as well as information about the opportunities and challenges that need to be addressed.

“The agreed vision for the precinct is a first choice sporting, leisure and entertainment destination that is diverse, vibrant, sustainable and commercially viable” Mr MacDonald said.

“We’ve had some great feedback so far and successful stakeholder engagement sessions at the end of October. This is the next big project for Newcastle and I encourage the community to get involved and have input into the plan”.
