A directory of local products and services is now available ahead of the Newcastle 500 Supercars Weekend on the 24-26th November, Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald MLC announced today.
The directory was prepared by the NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet in collaboration with Newcastle Now and the Hunter Business Chamber.
“The directory will provide quick and accessible references to a wide range of services that local businesses can provide in order to ensure that Newcastle businesses benefit from the increased tourism trade of the weekend” Mr MacDonald said.
“Newcastle is a new location for the Supercars calendar, so a directory of local suppliers for last minute or emergency items is a great help to the visiting teams and fans”.
Over 80 businesses are listed in the directory in products and services ranging from food suppliers, fitness centres, health professionals, laundry needs, banners and automotive support services. Listings were free to businesses.
The directory will be promoted to teams, sponsors and corporate guests and uploaded on the Supercars Newcastle website for easy access.
“Projects such as the Supercars Business Directory allow us to offer business development opportunities to our member businesses. The directory will be shared with over 2000 supercar drivers, pit crew, and team members who will be in Newcastle city for the week, and they will need convenient access to a variety of business services,” said Edward Duc, Chairperson for Newcastle Now.
The directory was a key project of the Business and Industry Working Group which was chaired by the Office of Regional Development in order to maximise business outcomes.
