Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald MLC this evening officially opened ‘The Riverlink’ on High Street, Maitland.
The second component of The Levee Development began in 2016 and was funded with $9.92 million from the NSW Liberal National Government’s Resources for Regions program.
The opening of this stage highlights the revitalisation of High Street, Maitland, through the creation of The Levee Shared Zone, road and footpath Works on High Street between Church and Elgin Streets, and Bourke Street and Pre-School Lane, works on a portion of the Riverside Walk and the creation of a connection to the river through the completion of the Riverlink Building.
“I would like to commend Maitland City Council and the architect CHROFI. Riverlink is a stunning building linking the vibrant city centre with the river. The community can feel proud of Maitland’s vision and direction,” Mr MacDonald said.
The Resources for Regions program demonstrates the commitment of the NSW Government to support these communities through improvements to the local infrastructure they need to grow their economies including road and rail infrastructure, water and sewerage systems and social and civic assets.
