Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald MLC is encouraging the Williamtown community to nominate for recently vacated positions on the Williamtown Community Reference Group (CRG).
“The CRG’s purpose is to support communities by providing a communication platform to engage with government agencies in responding to per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) on, and in the vicinity of, RAAF Base Williamtown,” Mr MacDonald said.
The CRG is currently being refreshed and there are 4 vacant community representative positions. As convenor of the group, the Department of Premier & Cabinet welcomes applications from people who can demonstrate strong links to the community and represent their interest groups on matters relating to the contamination. The successful applicants will be appointed for one year.
“It is important the community is well represented on the Community Reference Group, this is the forum for us to be heard and I encourage all residents within the Management Area to join our team,” Fullerton Cove resident and long-standing member of the CRG Lindsay Clout said.
Mr MacDonald said those interested in applying should complete the formal application form, available on request from the office and also online at the EPA website, http://www.epa.nsw.gov.au/working-together/community-engagement/community-news/raaf-williamtown-contamination/williamtown-engagement.
Nominees are asked to please complete all sections of this form and note that DPC may contact you or your referees if further information is required to support your nomination. All nominees will be advised in writing of the results of their applications.
Nominations must be lodged with DPC by 5 pm, Friday 4th May 2018 to email@example.com or at The Department of Premier & Cabinet, Level 5 / 26 Honeysuckle Drive, Newcastle 2300.
