Scot MacDonald
ALP RECKLESS TREATMENT OF WYONG BUSINESS
4th May 2018

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC has confirmed 48 hours after revealing a reckless, job destroying feature of Labor’s Wyong Special Area (Protection) Bill 2018, Labor have not tabled an amendment to change the area or consent requirements within their Bill that would shut down Boral’s Montoro clay mine quarry at Wyee and therefore force the closure of their manufacturing plant.

“It is not good enough to wait until the Bill is debated or simply to write to Boral. What counts is their actions in Parliament,” Mr MacDonald said.

“Labor needs to fix this now. Their rank stupidity creates uncertainty for the owners and 45 workers.”

“I am calling for Opposition Leader Luke Foley MP to sack David Harris MP as Shadow Minister for the Central Coast and the Hon. Adam Searle MLC as Shadow Minister for Industry, Resources and Energy.”

“They are responsible for this debacle. They are continuing a Labor pattern of recklessly meddling with mining licenses and applications that was exposed by ICAC.”
