Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC has welcomed the announcement by the Premier and Minister for Education of an expansion to the successful Share Our Space Program by the NSW Liberal National Government.
Originally trialed over the summer holidays, the Premier and Minister for Education have announced an expansion to include an additional 85 schools across NSW, and that the scheme will now become permanent.
The Central Coast schools that will be open during the upcoming holidays are;
- Ettalong Public School, Gosford
- Kulnura Public School, Gosford
- Peats Ridge Public School, Gosford
- Somersby Public School, Gosford
- Lisarow Public School, The Entrance
Of these schools, only Kulnura and Lisarow Public Schools were available over the autumn holidays.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC said he was pleased to see the scheme expanding, and hoped the Central Coast community would benefit over the coming fortnight.
“Opening up further schools on the Central Coast grants increased access to green spaces and sporting fields, helping children to remain active over the school holidays.”
“I thank the Premier and Education Minister for their efforts in expanding and continuing to support this very worthwhile program that offers greater options for school holiday activities.”
Participating schools will receive a $5000 grant they can use to help upgrade their facilities for community and school use. Participating schools will be open during the upcoming school holidays from July 9 to 20, between 8am to 5pm.
