FUNDING FOR CHROMEFEST FESTIVAL AT THE ENTRANCE
24th Oct 2018

More overnight visitors are expected to experience this year’s Chromefest at Memorial Park, The Entrance thanks to a $29,662 funding boost from the NSW Liberal National Government.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC said the three-day festival, running this coming Friday to Sunday, has grown into one of the region’s most popular events, which celebrates music, cars and fashions from the American Rock and Roll era.

“It gives me great pleasure to announce that Chromefest has secured more than $29,000 from the NSW Liberal National Government’s Event Development Fund to help support an expanded shuttle bus service, children’s entertainment facilities and the installation of shade structures for the festival’s secondary dance floors,” Mr MacDonald said.

“The money will help deliver an even better visitor experience to drive visitation which means more visitors staying overnight, eating in our restaurants and spending money in our shops.”

Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said tourism to NSW was booming and Government support for rural and regional NSW was stronger than ever before.

“More activity across our rural and regional areas is one of our top priorities which is why we are growing the tourism pie and making sure everyone gets a slice,” Mr Marshall said.

“As a country-based Minister I am determined to ensure that we continue to empower and support event proponents, tour operators, hoteliers and visitor attractions, and that means investing in activities which help to turbocharge local economies and create more jobs.”

The Event Development Fund is one of two new funding streams in the Regional Flagship Events Program which was announced in 2016.

The Fund offers an annual grant of up to $50,000 to regional events that have received the maximum funding permitted through the Flagship Event Fund (or former Regional Flagship Events Program) and can demonstrate a robust strategy for future development.
