Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald MLC today announced a $5,000 grant to Alesco Senior College from the NSW Premier, the Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP for the construction and fit out of kitchen facilities at their Cessnock premises.

Mr MacDonald made the announcement whilst attending the 2018 Graduation Ceremony of Alesco Senior College students, held this morning at the Griffith Duncan Theatre at the University of Newcastle.

Mr MacDonald said the funding would allow the kitchen fit out to provide students with a proper breakfast each day and would extend the possible courses that Alesco Senior College could offer.

“Alesco Senior College fulfil an important educational role within the Hunter community and are tireless advocates for ensuring all young people have the necessary support to complete their secondary education or transition into vocational education,” Mr MacDonald said.

“I thank Premier Berejiklian for recognising the importance of this project to the educational work Alesco Senior College perform and for extending this support.”

Alesco Senior College received a commendation from the Premier at a community awards ceremony in June at Raymond Terrace.
