Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter, Scot MacDonald MLC, has today announced $ 182, 976 in NSW Government funding for Cooks Hill Surf Lifesaving Club as part of the 2016/17 Surf Club Facility Program.
Funding has been provided to upgrade the female toilets, change rooms and disabled facilities at the Cooks Hill Surf Club.
“The aim of this program is to increase the availability, standard and quality of surf lifesaving clubs in NSW for the benefit of their members and the wider community,” Mr MacDonald said.
“I congratulate Cooks Hills Surf Club on their successful application and look forward to seeing the benefits of this upgrade.
“Surf Life Saving NSW does immensely important work- saving lives and providing opportunities for people of all ages to get fit and healthy.”
“It is a great pleasure to assist local clubs by providing the funds to increase the availability, standard and quality of sport facilities in Newcastle,” Mr MacDonald added.
“This grant will allow us to upgrade our facilities to better serve the community and members of our Surf Club” President of Cooks Hill SLSC Richard Hermens said.
