Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Scot MacDonald MLC and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch MP have welcomed Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s announcement that more than 170 new buses will be purchased in the NSW Budget, bringing additional and improved weekly services to customers in the Central Coast.
More than 100 additional weekly services will be added on the following routes:
- Routes 36, 37 Gosford to Westfield Tuggerah via Ourimbah
- Route 47 Tuggerah to Ourimbah
- Route 64 Woy Woy to Erina Fair via Ettalong Beach and Kincumber
“I am excited to confirm this massive budget boost will not only replace 134 of our ageing bus fleet, it will add 42 additional buses and deliver 3300 more services a week across NSW,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“This is another way we’re delivering real improvements to services that people rely on every day.”
Mr MacDonald said this is great news for bus commuters in the Central Coast as they will benefit from enhanced services as part of the NSW Government’s $1.5 billion bus budget.
“This announcement provides our residents better access to buses, through more frequent and flexible services,” Mr MacDonald said.
Adam Crouch said the announcement isn't just about more services but also creates new routes, provides extended operating hours and delivers bus priority infrastructure where it is needed the most.
“This is not just about adding more services, but also allowing for future growth,” Mr Crouch said.
The additional buses and services forms part of the 2017/18 Growth Services program and delivers on priorities highlighted in the Sydney’s Bus Future plan.
