Recreational and commercial boat users will benefit from improved facilities at Newcastle’s North Stockton Boat Ramp following the completion of upgrades.
Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Scot MacDonald MLC said the NSW Government provided $550,000 towards the $850,000 joint project with Newcastle City Council under the Boating Now program.
“The completed works involved upgrading the carpark, replacing the amenities block as well as improving signage and landscaping,” Mr MacDonald said.
“This upgrade is a great example of what can be achieved by working with local councils and community organisations using funding from Boating Now”.
“I thank the community for its patience while work was carried out and encourage people to come and check out the infrastructure.”
Mr MacDonald said the second round of Boating Now funding is open and encouraged councils and community groups to submit applications until Sunday 20th August.
“The NSW Government knows Australians love spending time outdoors and on the waterways, which is why the Boating Now program is such a success.”
